LECTURES

Lecture 5 - DOUBLE EXPOSURE
  • Double Exposure Photography
Double exposure photography means combining multiple images. It is usually characterized by silhouettes.

1. Using the Tilt-Shift Effect
It can turn photos into works of art
How to use : go to Filter > Blur Gallery > Tilt-Shift.
(Fig.5)

2. Create fake reflection
Create double exposure with separate window photos. Helps to add interesting textures to multiple exposure photography.
(Fig.5.1)

3. Experiment with simple portraits and details textured
It can combine simple photos with complex ones, and it can also save discarded simple photos.
(Fig.5.2)
4. Convert your results to Black & White
A lack of color will enhance the mood of your double-exposure image.
(Fig.5.3)

5. Work with silhouette
Double exposure with only contours gives a unique effect.
(Fig.5.4)

6. Pick two random photo
Random processes also make sense, lead to greater creativity, and the creative process is fun.
(Fig.5.5)

7. Make simple objects look fascinating
Taking pictures of common objects to make them look different can enhance the imagination.
(Fig.5.6)

8. Use Shadow
Any type of silhouette is ideal for double exposure photography. I need to take more shadow photos and make them beautiful.
(Fig.5.7)
  • Blend Modes
Using mixed modes is an experimental process that requires trying different modes and filling in the opacity until you get the desired result.
(Fig.5.8)

Here’s a quick guide:

  1. Select the Layer 1 (Fire) to be on top of the Background (Musicians)
  2. Go to the Blending Modes option
  3. Select “Screen”
  4. As a result, all of the pixels on the fire will be selected as Screen blending mode.

TASK

Week 5 : I took one of the best collages I ever made and made a color palette to unify the colors and make it look more harmonious.

(Add filters to the collage)
PRACTICAL :

Mr.Fauzi has sent us a ppt, in which the following contents are explained:

  1. Quick Selection Tool

  2. Layer Mask

  3. Filters

  4. Color Correction

I followed the video tutorial step by step.

Take the figure off first.

Adjust the figure to the right size.

Use adjustments to integrate the character into the picture.

Use the brush tool to shadow the character. Then copy the character and add the reflection. Use the pen tool to cut out the excess.

Finally adjust the color of the reflection and I am done.

Final product :

FEEDBACK

Week 5 :This week, Mr.Fauzi still adopted the online form in class. He first selected our best works for us and then started the class. In this class, I learned how to use ps to color pictures. I unified the colors in the picture and now it looks more coordinated.
