Experience
In this FLIP Classroom exercise, I worked on an Infographic Redesign Project, where I had to choose a poorly designed infographic poster and redesign it using CANVA. First, I selected an existing infographic that I felt could be improved in terms of layout and visual clarity. Then, I analyzed the original design and identified areas such as hierarchy, spacing, and readability that needed to be enhanced. After that, I recreated the infographic in a cleaner and more organized way, focusing on making the information easier to understand while also improving the overall visual appearance. Finally, I uploaded both the original and redesigned versions to my blog as part of the exercise.
Observations
During this exercise, I noticed that a poorly designed infographic often has issues with visual hierarchy, cluttered arrangement, and weak readability. Even if the information is useful, it can become difficult for viewers to understand when the layout is not clear. By redesigning the poster, I observed that small changes such as improving alignment, organizing content more logically, and using better spacing can make the infographic look much more effective. I also found that using CANVA made it easier to test different layouts and design choices quickly.
Findings
Through this FLIP Classroom task, I learned that infographic design is not only about decoration, but more importantly about clear communication of information. A successful redesign requires understanding what is wrong with the original poster and finding better ways to present the same content visually. This exercise helped me improve my sense of layout, readability, and information organization. Overall, it strengthened my understanding of how design decisions can directly affect how easily an audience receives and understands information.
