REFLECTIONS
Experience
Overall, I would say this project was quite fun but also a
little stressful at the same time. I really enjoyed going
through the photos I took during my travels and selecting
images that matched the mood and concept I wanted. However,
editing and colour grading a large number of photos within a
limited time was honestly quite tiring. Usually, I like
spending a long time adjusting colours and small details
carefully, but because of the time constraint, I had to learn
how to work faster and simplify my editing process. Even so, I
think this experience helped me improve my workflow and become
more efficient when editing.
Observation
Through this experience, I got to observe many different
photography and colour grading styles from other photographers
and creators. Looking at references helped me understand how
colour tones, lighting, and composition can completely change
the mood of a photo. I also realised that different editing
styles can give the same image a very different feeling. This
gave me more inspiration and helped me better understand how
visual aesthetics work in photography and editing.
Findings
During this project, I discovered several editing techniques
that improved my workflow and made the process more efficient.
At first, I spent too much time adjusting every photo
individually, but later I realised that using presets and
applying similar colour adjustments across multiple images
helped save a lot of time while still maintaining consistency.
I also found that lighting and photo composition during the
shooting stage are very important because they can make the
colour grading process much easier afterwards. Overall, this
project helped me improve both my editing skills and my
understanding of visual consistency in photography.
