Lecture 9 - DIGITAL SURREALISM

• Realism

Realism As the name suggests, the theme is the ordinary and ordinary world. Its subject matter is almost prosaic.

• Surrealism

Surrealism is a distortion of realism. It is often more dreamy, exploring the human subconscious and aiming to distort ordinary reality.

Surrealism doesn't care about logic. Relying on the subconscious and dreams to stimulate creativity.

Dadaism, whose main thrust is anti-war, is ironic and absurd in nature.

Salvador Dali was a Spanish surrealist painter known for his exploration of the unconscious.

• Digital Surrealism

Surrealism is a cultural movement focused on the type of art that expresses the artist's own ideas. In today's digital age, surrealism is one of the top digital art styles.

Lecture 10 - Intro to After Effects

In this lecture, Mr.Fauzi took us to learn about Adobe After Effects, a software that can be used to create animations, visual effects, and film synthesis. It is used in the post-production stage and has hundreds of effects that can be used to process images.

Compositing Layers in Photoshop

All the layers need to be arrange and rename accordingly so that it will be organize and easy to be animated in After Effects.

TASK

I need to design posters these weeks. 

Here are my sources of inspiration :

I named my theme Only You Have Color.

Reason : I really like to add bold colors to the black, white and gray background. I think this design is very creative,  which makes black, white and gray no longer monotonous, it will give people a strong impact, make people's eyes bright,  and also point out the main idea. So I want to design a poster like this.

I used the techniques I learned in the previous weeks to create my poster: cutouts,coloring black and white photos, double exposure, etc.

Final result ：

I used a bright red color and a black and white background for contrast, and also colored the character's clothes, which makes the layers clearer and more eye-catching.

FEEDBACK

Week 8 : Independent Learning Week

Week 9 ：This week Mr.Fauzi showed us this video on how to create loop animation for IG stories and gave us some suggestions for poster ideas.

Week 10 ：This is my first time to use the software After Effects. Through this exercise, I have some understanding of this software. It can turn pictures into animations and make them more vivid, which is really cool.
